Privacy policy.
This policy explains how the private Household Finance app handles Yev’s and Savannah’s personal and banking information.
Who operates this app
Household Finance is a private, non-commercial household record operated by Yev Palomino Tkachenko for Yev and Savannah. Privacy questions, access requests or corrections can be sent to me@yevpalomino.com.
Information we hold
The app stores documents you upload, household facts and planning assumptions, income, expenses, assets, debts and tax records. If you connect banking through Openfeed, it also receives the selected account’s display name, masked identifier, type, balance and transaction history, plus encrypted technical identifiers needed to maintain or revoke that connection.
The app does not ask for or store your bank password, PIN, full account number or BSB. It does not retain reusable bank access tokens or complete raw Openfeed responses.
Why we use it
Information is used only to maintain the household ledger, understand cash flow, prepare and support tax work, assess property capacity, test future scenarios and make household financial decisions. It is not sold, used for advertising or supplied to an external AI service.
Openfeed and the Consumer Data Right
Openfeed, operated by Biza, helps you authorise disclosure from a participating bank. Your bank and Openfeed handle the connection steps under their own terms and privacy practices. Once information is disclosed to this app, it is handled under the Privacy Act 1988, the Australian Privacy Principles and this policy; it is not protected by the Consumer Data Right data safeguards.
Storage and security
The app uses encrypted HTTPS connections, private authenticated access, restricted service-account files and platform storage encryption. Bank and grant identifiers are additionally encrypted with a key stored outside the database. Signing keys are restricted to the service account. Security events record actions and counts, not bank tokens, identifiers or transaction descriptions.
Same-server encrypted-storage snapshots may temporarily contain retained data for operational recovery. External backups are not currently enabled.
Retention and deletion
Records are retained while they are useful for household administration, tax evidence and financial planning. Disconnecting Openfeed revokes future access but intentionally retains imported records. After disconnecting, you can use the separate deletion control to remove bank account links, balance observations and transactions created only by the feed. A document or independently supplied transaction that was later matched to a feed record is retained.
Your choices and rights
Each household member controls only their own bank consent. You can change which accounts are shared, disconnect, request a copy of information about you, ask for correction, or request deletion where the records are no longer required. If a request cannot be completed inside the app, contact the operator at the address above.
Incidents and complaints
If you believe information has been accessed or used improperly, contact the operator promptly. A suspected eligible breach will be assessed and notified as required by law and by the Openfeed agreement. You may also complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
